HOW TO GET RPs
- Do you want to know the secret to getting loads of RPs, when your character hasn't got much going on?
- How to get people to RP with you that seem inaccessible?
- Do you want to know why people won't respond to your RP thread, for some strange reason, even though other people started threads asking for general RPs and tons of people replied?
Here are the answers..
- Don't be afraid. Don't be shy. Don't spam. Use your brain and common sense.
Something which I see on this board A LOT and I'll admit, irritates me immensely, is this. Seeing about five threads, all asking for the same thing (i.e. RPs/threads) all posted in about the same amount of time. Call that time within a few hours of each other, or within a few days. I usually see that either very few or no people respond to them and it dies. Or I see that the makers of such threads end up deleting them and drifting around Games board (or not even there, just randomly being online and not doing anything) aimlessly, complaining.-----------------------------------
My lovely fellow HOSers,
What, I ask, is the point of starting a new thread when you can see someone nice looking and lonely first year or not already having started a similar thread? It's common sense, politeness to just post in others threads ALREADY POSTED ON THE BOARD. Really.
They're looking for RPs. You're looking for RPs. They have no RPs. You have no RPs.....do I need to say it again? lol.
- Don't make yourself exclusive to RPing with members of a particular house, gender, or year!
Be adventurous, have fun, explore, see what other people are like! Be experimental and have fun with it, you never know you might end up making some new friends.
Older members who might be reading this:
I understand some of you may find first years annoying. In fact, I agree with you. They truly can be, but that doesn't mean they're all annoying by default! C'mon guys, don't be snobs! You were all there once, too.
First years, don't be afraid to post in an older member's plot or plot planning thread. It's extremely unlikely that they'd ignore you and much more likely that they'd take time to listen, plot and RP with you.
I understand if when wanting a thread you're looking for something particular (e.g. love relationships only, or if you're planning some fantastic insane plot, or can only have vampires/werewolves/death eaters etc) for the plot, but if it's a general RP, get out there with more people!--POST ORIGINALLY CREATED BY THE AMAZING CAIRINE LEFAY!--
