It was a no-brainer as to why the New Moon night was Henry's favourite time of the month. For one, as an avid star-gazer he had always appreciated the lack of lunar light pollution; which was a blessing when he wanted to watch objects father from his usual visual range. Secondly, recent events had left him with a distaste for the solitary lamp of the night. Events that were changing his life in unexpected ways—events whose implications he was still in the process of grasping. And in the light of all this, it sure helped to keep his mind occupied with more trivial issues: like why he was unable to get a clearer image of Vega with his telescope.
So now the boy sighed and backed away from the lens while rubbing the fatigue out of his eyes. It was getting a bit late now, but not late enough for him to retire to sleep. He needed to do something else for a change. He needed to... read. Yes, read and bring a little diversity into his routine. The idea came to him as he glanced upon the book he had brought up with him to the Tower. The Last Tycoon; a suggestion from a girl from Hufflepuff. It had come up in a chat they had while Henry went over to the Badgers' table for his usual meals with his brothers. And with his tendency to take reading suggestions very seriously, he had managed to pull a classic Henry by getting his Uncle to buy him a copy from a muggle bookstore as fast as it was humanly possible.
But now that he had the book in his possession, settling down to read proved difficult. He found himself thinking back to the time he'd asked the girl to join him up in the Astronomy Tower; and of how he'd never caught hold of her after that conversation. Maybe that was too forward of me... he mused with a frown directed at the night sky.
ooc; Really crappy phone-post. Bear with me just this once!
